In these drawings there is a range of Celtic knots and knotwork constructions. There are simple ones like the two and three strand knots. There are more complex knot’s that use interlocking and symmetry with a mirror effect. Some of the knot designs bounce off the outer frame while others weave and wind like a braid. All Celtic knots stick to the under-and-over rule as you work. These works are from my journals, sketched first in pencil. Paint is added in blocks to follow the strands, and colour pencil over that defines the outside edges to tighten the composition.
